Bolted Water Tanks

Did you know that bolted water tanks were originally developed in the 1920’s and were first used in the Central United States as storage tanks for crude oil? Eventually gaining recognition and standardization in both the Petroleum industry (1953) and the American Water Works Association (1970’s), these tanks have a legacy of solid engineering and a long-life construction.

Bolted water tanks are constructed with a lap joint vertical wall seam layout and reinforced with a flanged horizontal wall seam, synthetic rubber and elastomeric gaskets to seal the panel joints. External construction components include mild steel and stainless steel and factory applied baked on epoxy and hot dip galvanized systems. Typically, our tanks are configured with a steel floor, walls and deck system.

The most common uses for our bolted storage tanks include ground reservoirs, water and wastewater treatment. With storage applications for municipal water supply and wastewater treatment tanks, industrial process water, industrial wastewater treatment, fire protection water, and petroleum and fuels (excluding petrol).
